You wanna know why you do not go to Raven High? Well, get excited because you’ll find out when FALLEN, the very first Zone evangelistic musical production, opens on 27th August!

The musical is set in Raven High School, a school where the students don’t have any other place to go. When you’re enrolled in Raven High, it’s as good as being on a dead-end road to nowhere. Damien, the leader of the gangs that hold the school in their sway, rules with fear and ruthlessness. He has a hold over them that they cannot break out of.

But everything changes when Jesse, the new kid, starts his semester at Raven High. Can the fallen and the forgotten ever begin to hope for a future? Can a single man set off a course of events that can turn things around for good?

So what will it take to make a way when it seems like there is no way out?

Open Mic is an event organised by New Creation Church’s Worship Ministry to provide youths with an avenue to showcase their musical talents. Sign up as a soloist, a musician, an a cappella group or as a band. You are free to perform Christian, secular or even self-penned songs. So step IN, step UP and step OUT — let your music be heard!

Here are the simple steps to sign up:

1) Form your performance group:

a) Singer(s) only — use a minus-one track (to be provided by you) as accompaniment or perform a cappella; maximum four singers in a group

b) Musician(s) only — instrumental performance, no singer is required, maximum six musicians in a group

c) Band comprising of singer(s) and musician(s) — each performance group should consist of a minimum of one singer and one musician and a maximum of 10 performers (maximum six musicians and four singers in each band)

2) Apply online at Open Mic Sign Up

All entries must include:

a) Application form(s) with all fields completed

b) Audio or video demo of the song(s) that you/your group will be playing and/or singing. Demo(s) to be emailed to open.mic@newcreation.org.sg. The title of the email should be ‘Open Mic Demo — (your group/band name)‘

c) Title(s), lyrics and author(s) of song(s) to be performed at the event — please note that you can choose to perform Christian, secular or self-penned songs. Lyrics of the song(s) will be vetted as songs with profanities and obscene lyrics will not be permitted

Closing date: Monday, 12 July 2010, 11:59pm

1) All applications will be screened and the organiser reserves the right to reject any application

2) All shortlisted participants will be notified via phone after Monday, 12 July 2010

3) Applicants who are not selected will also be informed via phone after Monday, 12 July 2010

Hello DARE and ARROW!

Last year, we held our very first Internet/Gaming event.  It was a DARE event and 300 over youths came with their friends and DGs to play their favourite games, and learn new internet/computer tricks in workshops.

Pastor Benjamin shared a Word on taking dominion over the Internet. It was powerful that many youths went up to be ministered to and saw success in taking dominion over the Internet since.

We’re excited to bring back this event this year and have the awesome ARROW youths join us this time!  This year you can look forward to an even more exciting programme!  Pastor Benjamin will be preaching! Advanced Photoshop workshop: – Learn stuff you’ve always wanted to!  Have fun playing Nintendo Wii games with your Dare/Care Groups! Seminars that will equip you to walk in wisdom in the social media space, to spread the gospel and to understand and help your friends and loved ones overcome cyber addictions.

The Zone Youth Ministry is making its very first trip to the land of Israel this year!  It is going to be an exciting trip where you will experience the life and ministry of Jesus and where the Word of God  will come alive like never before!

Here are some details to take note of:

Who: These trips are for the regular members of the  Poly / ITE and Varsity clusters of Arrow!  Those students in the JC cluster who will have completed their A levels this year may also join the Varsity group.  For those of you who cannot join this year, know that the Lord will never short-change you, and begin believing God now to be able to go next year!

When:

• Arrow Varsity: 7-16 December 2009
• Arrow Poly: 21-30 December 2009

Cost: The total cost is $3,399 (inclusive of all taxes and fuel surcharges).  This cost is based on 40 passengers per bus, and if the sign up is such that there are fewer than 40 passengers on a bus, the cost would increase.

The initial deposit of $1,000 must be paid to “Omega Tours and Travel Pte Ltd” by 12 July, and the final payment must be made by 31 September.  All payments are to be made by cheque.

Registration: Registration will be available outside the Rock Auditorium and Gallery West on the following dates:

• 28 June 2009 (at Omega Counter)
