“Sometimes, there are areas in your life that you feel are dead; areas that seem impossible. All you need is Jesus to come into those areas and life, His zoe life, will be brought in.”- Pastor Joe Purcell
Are you chronically sick? Always late? Perpetually tired? Constantly insecure? Finding some situations impossible to change in your life? Here’s some good news for you: Jesus can turn those situations around. The only thing you need to do is to bring Him into your situation through His Word.
All of us know that the Bible is the written Word. But do we know that the written Word releases power into our lives when it is the spoken Word? In the opening account of Genesis, we see how when God spoke, light came into being. In the same account, He also spoke Heaven, Earth, the stars, the plants, and all living creatures into their existence. Certainly, nothing happened until God opened His mouth and spoke the entire cosmos into being. Similarly, when we speak in line with the Word of God, we release that same creative power into our lives.
From the onset, God created man to enjoy His life (the God kind of life, the zoe life). After God had created the cosmos, He created man by breathing His very own zoe life into man. Adam and Eve were made to enjoy all that God had created before them. There was no lack and no shortage, as well as no consciousness of worry or fear. Every day, they walked in the zoe life of God.
Today, we can live in a greater measure of the zoe life that Adam and Even enjoyed when they were still in the garden of Eden, simply because of Jesus’ redemptive work in our lives. Because Jesus has made us sons of God, our words, muttered in the very breath which God had first breathed into us, carry the very power and zoe life of God Himself. These words contain within them the creative power of God to change and to impact.
Hence, when we speak in alignment with His written Word, we release power and life into every situation and they cannot remain the same.
You know what’s the best part? It doesn’t even take faith. All you have to do is to come into contact with the Words of Christ and His life enters, changes your situation, regardless of how impossible and dead it seems. In John 11:1-44, Lazarus had been dead for four days and Martha definitely didn’t believe that Jesus could do anything to change that. It seemed impossible for anything to change. Yet, even in her faithlessness, Jesus resurrected Lazarus.
Beloved, is there something in your life that seems impossibly dead today? How about bringing the Word of Christ into that situation? Even when you are faithless, be encouraged in knowing that as long as His Word has made an entrance into your life, there is NO WAY that your situation will remain unchanged. The active, explosive, insuppressible life of God is contained in His Word, waiting only for you to release it into your situation. What are you waiting for?
