WHEN I AM 110…

header1

Ever wonder what our lives would be like when we’re a hundred and twenty years old? Would you have travelled the world? Would you have a living room full of noisy grand-grandchildren running about and playing? Would you have made a difference in the lives around you? Would you still be doing what you love?

If you’d asked me, I would’ve just looked at you blankly, shook my head, and said: “What??!” Come on. Let’s be honest here. It’s not really something you ask someone who’s only at the tender age of eighteen (ahem) twenty-something. Whether it’s one-hundred-and-twenty or one-hundred-and-ten, it still seems like a lifetime away.

But, really, let’s all just pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Think about Caleb who was eighty and still went striding up his mountain and kicking giants off his property, as hale and hearty as he was when he first laid eyes on the promised land forty years previous.

Being a hundred and ten years old isn’t about being a wizened geriatric with a head full of white hair and a face full of wrinkles; on the contrary, I believe that it’s about us still in the heady days of our youth, strength and vigour unabated as Caleb was.

So, inspired by our brothers and sisters at i-heart.org, when they asked us how we are going to change the world, we here at the Zone want to know this:

What will you be doing when you’re 110?

It could be anything — maybe you’ll be dancing with your grandchildren in His house, or building wells in another country, or preaching to thousands — don’t limit yourself. Maybe you’ll have a chain of stores.. or exploring places few have gone before.. it can be anything, but one thing is for certain: you will all still be shining His light. Wherever you are, whatever you’ve set your hands to — you’ll still be living in and through Jesus.

So take up your markers and fill the blanks after “WHEN I AM 110..” and email it in to the.zone@newcreation.org.sg. We want to know.

Open your hearts and dream big. Make yourself heard.
