A big HELLO to everyone from Jerusalem! The Level 4 youths on the DARE Israel trip are having awesome time in the Holy Land and are still anticipating more of the bible to come alive in the remaining few days. The trip has been marked with signs and wonders, beginning with a double rainbow seen from the plane in Tel Aviv, and the highlight thus far being a spectacular view of the letter “ש” (“Shin” – the 1st letter in “Shaddai”, the name of God in Hebrew) painted across the sky with pink clouds during sunset over Jerusalem on Christmas Day.
The youths had a taste of the famous St. Peter’s fish near St. Peter’s Primacy, where Jesus restored Peter three times in John 21 and made breakfast for his disciples at the shore, likely with the very same type of fish! The Sea of Galilee was beautiful and greeted us with lots of seagulls as we took a boat out to the middle of the sea. Yet, what made the boat ride so special was the encounter that our youths had with the Lord, as they imagined themselves as the disciples during the storm on these very same waters.
Having stepped on the same soil that Jesus did more than 2000 years ago in Galilee like the Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Caesarea Philippi, Mount Arbel, and seeing how life in Jesus’ time was like in the Nazareth Village, our youths have fallen in love with Israel and even more with Jesus. They have also experienced a night’s stay in Bedouin tents in the Judean desert, floated on the Dead Sea, participated in an archeological project with remarkable findings, had a fun time celebrating Christmas and much more! The fresh revelations that the youths have received and shared during the trip have been amazing and we know that they will not return to Singapore the same. Enjoy the pictures!
