In the Mercy Seat

As I was not feeling well for the few days leading up to the recent DARE service, I was feeling rather low and out-of-sorts. But after hearing what Pastor Benjamin said that there is no blemish in Jesus body, so we had divine health, I knew that God was speaking to me! Pastor also constantly emphasised on how we trample the devil underneath our feet and that we would receive our victory!

In the last DARE service, Pastor Benjamin shared on the most centre place in the entire Earth: the mercy seat. He shared how only the high priest could enter the holy of holies while the people would wait anxiously outside to await the news of God’s acceptance – to see if God would rain curses or blessings upon them. Blood from the purest and cleanest lamb would be sprinkled onto the mercy seat, which covered and hid three items: the Law of Moses written on stone tablets, manna and Aaron’s budding rod. Pastor Benjamin said that manna represents God’s provision for our daily needs while the rod represents God’s leadership.

This was a great revelation to me. It showed to me that God will always provide for us in every circumstance, just like how God provided manna daily for the Israelites when they had no food. God told them not to keep any manna for the next day, as each day’s provision was sufficient for the present day itself. Now I understand why it is written, “His blessings are always new every morning”! We no longer need to ‘work’ for these blessings nor worry about tomorrow’s provision. Indeed, God’s grace is always sufficient for us!

Pastor Benjamin also shared about prayer, specifically on the last sentence of prayer we usually utter, “In Jesus’ Name, Amen”. It is actually not merely a phrase to finish up a prayer but one that actually seals all the things we ask for in our prayers; this means that our prayers are prayed according to Jesus’ branding! When I heard that our prayers are answered based not on my performance, but on how perfect Jesus is, I rejoiced, knowing that I need not rely on self-effort to get my victory!

As this week is examination week, this DARE service was a boost of confidence and energy to give me strength and wisdom to last throughout the week and for many days after! Thank you Jesus and Pastor Benjamin for sharing the awesome word that was like water in the desert! :)
