Reflecting on His Word …

Dearest beloveds,

As we approach the end of this dektos year, let us take a while to meditate and reflect on the Word that was imparted to us at EJ camp and our DARE services!  Here are some portions of the sermon summaries …

EJ Camp 2009 (8th – 11th Dec)

-          Jer 9:23-24, to know (Yada) God is to know Him experientially, personally and practically.  And it is good to experience Him emotionally too.

-          Dan 11: 32-33, when we know God, we will be strong and do great exploits.  Grace can transform our weaknesses into strengths.  God gives us favor to help us stand firm in the midst of temptations and peer pressure.

-          1 John 2: 15-17, when you feed on the Father’s love for you and know your identity, you have no time for lust, pride, and you would not fulfill stupid things.

-          The Devil doesn’t want you to know and experience love, which is why the devil likes to create strife in the family.  Trouble-makers are those who want affection, who want to be adored and admired.  Loneliness is a hunger for His love.

-          Luke 3: 21-22, when you know Daddy God’s love, to know that you are the son of His right hand.  when you have the spirit of sonship, it will cause you to overcome all!

-          We are not to feed on what’s popular, but what is credible.  It is about edification, not entertainment.  Like Daniel, we don’t need to eat the food of the world, e.g. drinking, pornography, witchcraft, horror shows, smoking, Twilight, Harry Potter, etc … because we know He loves us, and that He would not deprive us.

-          2 Peter 1:2-4, let us get involved in the divine nature!

-          Ecc 9:11, there is a timing to everything in our lives!  Pastor shared about how he laid down his untimely relationship, and how God used those years to build character, increase favor, abundantly blessed and prepared Pastor to be the man he is today.

-          When we bring Jesus into the center of our lives, and live according to God’s prophetic timing, we will experience His abundant favor (Qarah) in our lives!

5th Dec 2009 DARE Service

-          1 Thess 5: 16-18, Gratefulness is a fruit of grace, when you see God’s grace, you will thank God.  With God in my life, I don’t need to complain or grumble.

-          Thank God for your parents, toys, teachers … and thank God in the midst of negative circumstances, for God is working on them.

-          John 6:1-13, when you have a thanksgiving heart towards these things, God multiplies these, so that it satisfies you, others and there are leftovers.  Don’t despise the little things that you have.  Responsibility is the ability to keep/ maintain what you have and not abuse it, to handle and enjoy the blessings.

-          Heb 13:15, 2 Chron 20, let our eyes be on Jesus, not on circumstances, people, etc.  God will not just give you a victory, but give you valuables in abundance.

21st Nov 2009 DARE Service

-          Luke 15: 1-32, the Father’s house is not about religion, it is about life, love and relationship.  Religion complains and is always angry.  In the Father’s house, there is always more than enough!

-          Although we do not compromise our values on what is right and wrong, we never judge our worthiness by what we do or what we have, but by our relationship with the Father.

-          When the favor of God is on you, He will always cause you to rise to the top, just like Joseph.

14th Nov 2009 DARE Service

-          Joel 2:21-27, God is bringing restoration into our lives!  He makes all things work out for good, all my past is an opportunity for His restoration!

-          Judges 16: 4-30, Samson continued to listen and expose himself to deceptions, which caused him to lose vision of God’s call and blessings on his life.  But when Samson prayed, God answered!  When you call out, God doesn’t look at your sin, but remembers your righteous identity and call, and He answers!
