Early this year, when I got back my examination results for my first term in school, I was so sad and discouraged. I started to lose hope in myself and in Jesus. My results for my second term were not any better. At that point, I completely lost hope. I thought that there was no point in trying anymore as there was no more hope in getting better results. It was only later that I realised that there is hope in Jesus.
I was looking forward to the Encounter Jesus Camp 2010 for some fun, rest and relaxation before the start of the next school term. I soon realised that that was not what camp was about.
I went to camp just expecting some fun so on the first day of the camp, I was not really paying attention to the message preached by Pastor Benjamin. I just played with my phone and doodled on my notebook.
On the second day, when Pastor Daniel preached, for some reason, I listened to the message and caught every detail of it. There was one statement I remembered, which was to not put my trust in my own labour, but to put my trust in God’s labour. That statement applied to me in every way.
Later that night, Pastor Benjamin said something that caught my attention. He said that even if there is a hopeless situation in your life, there is still hope in Jesus. Later, when I went up for ministering. I just kept praying in the Spirit and thanking Jesus for being by my side and guiding me through everything. I know He wants the best for me and will lead me to it.
I carried a totally different attitude after the camp. My attitude before camp was, “No hope, I cannot make it.” Now, my attitude is, “Yes, there is hope in Jesus. I can make it with Jesus by my side!” All Glory To God!
