Honour – Stop. Look. Listen.

Been thinking about how it’s so true that Pastor Benjamin talks with so much wisdom (like a wise old man), yet his ideas are always fresh and vibrant, his eyes still bright like a child, schedule packed like a true blue CEO, yet always having time for people, and speaking like the present really counts. Dad, thank You that the same anointing flows from the top, down to us. I receive. =) That I’ll make decisions with wisdom like a granny, ideas always fresh from heaven, relevant and impacting lives, bright eyes like children, not sure about the packed schedule, but to always live in the present, the right here right now, never hurried, and giving attention.

The recent Servers’ Session we had with Pastor Benjamin and Coach Jo-Ann on honour was amazing. Increasingly I’m learning that to honour, to love, is to give my attention. Undivided, not while I’m multi-tasking or thinking about a project, looking at that dress in the window… But to drop all things and look into the person’s eyes, and listen beyond their words to what their heart is saying and to listen to what You say about that.

And to think that sometimes marriages and entire families fall apart for the lack of this. Simple really. Way above elaborate gifts or posh restaurants. To think that nations crumble and wars break out coz people stop listening to one another.

Today, teach us to listen with our hearts, Dad. As You do. =)
