I have a quiz for you. It is a test of speed on who can get the correct answer.

If 1 = 5

2 = 25

3 = 125

4 = 625

5 = ??

You have exactly 5 seconds to answer this quiz!

And your answer is? 3125??

Technically, you are right. Most people will deduce the equation as a “power of 5″.

But I asked what 5 is. And if you were to looked at the 1^st equation, 1 = 5, so 5 = 1 .

You see, our human mind tends to complicate things, we think that there is a pattern and we want to work out the sum.  It is like the blessings, prosperity and healing of God, our mind tells us that we have to earn for it-we have to do right in order for God to bless/heal us. If we were to take the Law of the power of 5 as parallel, you have to get the calculation right (try 5^{465454884576878}, how long do you need to calculate and not make mistake!) to arrive at the right answer; so for you to get God’s blessing, you have to fulfill the Law and not fail in any one. Now is that possible??!! If you are still debating if any man can fulfill the Law, let me give you the answer……NO! Only Jesus !

So what does the Bible says?

Romans 5:17
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Let us use equation here to help us to understand this verse.

Abundance of grace + gift of righteousness = reign in life

Blessings, divine health, good study results, a position in career = reigning in life

So, Blessings, healing, good study results, a position in career = reigning in life = Abundance of grace + gift of righteousness

And know what, to have Abundance of grace + gift of righteousness, you only need to RECEIVE-it is a gift, through the One, Jesus Christ. The scripture says so.

See it is so simple! To have all these blessings, healing etc. is to stretch out your hands and receive this gift. And it is because Someone stretched out His hands and hung on the cross for us; Jesus completed the work at the cross.

Why complicate Simplicity that is in Christ.

*This question was asked to a group of 5years old, and most of them answered 5=1. They saw it so simply. Perhaps we can learn something from these kids, that they know how to receive a gift, is to stretch out their hands and take it, don’t have to earn it. Period. Simple.
