Thoughts. They run through our mind every single day and every single second we are awake. Right now, as you are reading this, thoughts are running through your mind. As simple a word it is, thoughts are extremely powerful. People can go on to do absolutely crazy stuff because of their thoughts.
The thoughts we have of ourselves and our circumstances are important because they can actually affect how we live our lives. If we constantly have negative thoughts about ourselves, it won’t be long before we start feeling depressed and hopeless. No one can possibly be happy waking up each day thinking they are losers, or thinking that situation facing them later in the day is hopeless.
I find it so loving that our Daddy God understands how every part of us functions and works, right down to our thought life. Long before man discovered thoughts could have such an effect and influence over our lives, He already knew, which is why He wants us to have good dominant thoughts. If negative dominant thoughts can cause us to live and feel negatively, then good and positive dominant thoughts would work the opposite way.
But what kind of good thoughts does He want us to have? We know that this is not something that can be learnt from motivational book, because we can’t psyche ourselves into positive thinking.
The thoughts that He wants us to have are far beyond any result of positive thinking that any man is capable of. What Daddy God wants is for us, every single day, in every single circumstance, good or bad, to have His thoughts of us.
So what kind of thoughts does He have about us? Some believe He thinks about the many ways He can judge us or how He would bring about the next disaster. But are those really His thoughts of us or just what people conclude them to be?
Pastor Keith shared beautifully from the Word that Daddy God’s thoughts of us are to give us a future and a hope. He, more than anyone else, wants us to live a life with a future and a hope that can never fail. Regardless of how bleak the world’s economy may look, or how little you think you are in the eyes of man, He wants us to ‘take on’ His thoughts that we have a bright future and a hope that never fails or disappoints.
Thoughts, to some of us, may seem very flaky because our thoughts have the tendency to change as fast as the weather. We can have nice thoughts about someone today and the next day, we could have nasty thoughts with regards to that same person.
But His thoughts are nothing like our worldly thoughts at all. We can go to the bank of heaven with His thoughts because unlike ours, every one of His thoughts is accounted for; it is a done deal to Him. Today, His thoughts of you are to give you a future and a hope, so don’t think for a moment it can change based on your circumstances!
We have this assurance because our futures and hopes are founded in His beloved son, Jesus Christ. It’s a done deal sealed with the very blood of Jesus. Jesus took on all the punishment for our sin and His grace causes us to enjoy what we don’t deserve; it is the finished work of Jesus that our Daddy God’s thoughts of you are based on!
Each time we take on His thoughts as our thoughts, we are actually agreeing with Him. Our Daddy God is the perfect gentleman, so even though He has such awesome thoughts such as blessing us with a good success or a life partner beyond our expectations, He won’t release them over our life without first having our consent.
Every time we take on His thoughts, we agree that things are going to work out in our favour, regardless of the circumstances. And by agreeing with Him, He is free is come into the very midst of our situation and turn all things around for our good. Hallelujuah!
