Every time that I do something without first giving honor or weight to the wisdom in the people that God has placed around me and is using to speak into my life, I always find that I seem to lack the wisdom that I need. Then when I go to the Lord to ask Him for the wisdom, the wisdom never seems to comes because He was already speaking to me through the people around me, but I never listened! Many times when God wants to impart wisdom into our lives, He will send it through a man or woman.
Honor and give weight to the people that God has placed in your life, whether it be your leaders, your peers, or even those under you.

After having served for 20 years, I can testify that you will never regret serving all the days of your life. I want to encourage and exhort you to honor, to give weight to, what God has given you in your hands to serve Him.
Taste the joy of serving. Honor the thing that God has put in your hands…the position…the place…and also the people that God has placed in your life.
Honor is not only upwards, it is also horizontal and downwards. It’s honoring one another…the Bible talks about giving preference to one another. Honor and give weight to your peers. Honor your co-laborers. You will find great wisdom in it.
